Julia Lawson

Hey, I’m Julia, and I’m so excited to be part of BYU ASCE as the Networking chair! I’m a Sophomore Civil Engineering student who’s always been drawn to the challenge of creating things that actually make a difference. My path here wasn’t exactly typical—I spent years in ballet, which turned out to be great training for engineering (who knew discipline and problem-solving would transfer so well?).
I love figuring out how things work and how we can make them better. Civil engineering isn’t just about numbers for me—it’s about people, creativity, and coming up with solutions that last. I thrive on collaboration, learning from others, and working on projects that push me to think in new ways.
